SMS Star Student for the week of October 9th Brandon C. Brandon said, " I like St. Michael's because we learn a lot. We all get computers, and I get to play basketball on the school team." Ava's teacher added, "She is always so sweet and kind. She gets all of her work done carefully. She is always on task, and makes sure to help others. St Michael's is proud to announce the results from the Best of the Best contest, and we are in the Top 3 in the Pre-School category! Thank you to everyone who voted for us. This is such an honor! We are excited to be invited to participated in the red carpet award gala, where the winners in each category will be announced on stage. This event will be held at the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department on December 1st at 6pm. Only the Top 3 businesses/individuals in each category are invited to the Gala. Our Star Middle School Students for the week of September 25th is Cecilia! Cecilia said that she likes making new friends when new students come to school. She enjoys hanging out with all her friends. She also said. "St. Michael's is a great place to learn." Cecelia's teacher said, " Cecelia studies hard, plays hard and is a caring generous classmate." SMS Star Elementary Student for the week of September 25th is Kenneth! Kenneth says the best part about school is playing with his friends. Kenneth's teacher added, "Kenneth is a wonderful listener and rule follower. He has already received multiple angels this school year for his behavior and willingness to help others." St. Michael's is hosting their 2nd Annual Laps for Learning event on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. We are looking forward to this fundraiser to promote community, school spirit and movement. We are looking for event sponsors. For more information about this event, please review the Laps for Learning Forms included in this week's newsletter.
Aftercare services are being offered Monday - Friday from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM on full days only when school is in session. Aftercare is not available on half days. A days notice at minimum is required. Aftercare will only run with [5] or more students. Students will first complete their homework and receive assistance before any other activities are pursued. Aftercare services are a $20 charge per day. A late fee will be charged for pickup arrival after 6:00 PM. If you will require aftercare services, please call and make arrangements with the front office.

Our Middle School Star Students for the week of September 18th is Jaliah! One of the teachers said, "Jaliah is a wonderful addition to our middle school. She is always on top of her studies, and is kind and thoughtful towards her classmates." Jaliah said, The people here are very nice and the teachers here are very helpful." Congratulations Jaliah!
The SMS Elementary Star Students for the week of September 18th is Diego. One of the teachers said, "Diego is always polite, always trying to help and always trying to do the right thing. He follows all of the directions. He is meticulous with his work. He shows the rest of his class what it means to be a terrific scholar at St. Michael's School." Diego said, " I like St. Michael's School because I have friends, and I have homework." Congratulations Diego!
SMS Middle School student of the week is Will Sanner. Will said, "To me, Saint Michael's is more than just a school, it's a family that I am honored to be in with all the other students and staff." One of the teachers said, "Will has always been a student who takes his studies seriously. He goes above what is expected and excels in his classes. He will be a great success in High School because he knows how to put forward his best effort." Another teacher added, "Will is very dependable and Brooklyn is a ray of sunshine! These two are always respectful, always calm, willing to lend a hand and a joy to have as students." Congratulations Will!
Brooklyn Janney is the Elementary School student of the week. Brooklyn said what she likes best about St. Michael's are the friends she has made and her teachers. One of the teachers said. "Brooklyn is a student who follows school rules, is always in uniform, and thinks about others. She shows kindness to all. She is a great example of a Star Student." Congratulations Brooklyn!
