Mary VanRyswick has been teaching Kindergarten at St. Michael's since 1996. In 2008, she won the Sister Mary Lucille, RWM, Outstanding Teacher Award, which is awarded to one outstanding teacher each vear in the Archdiocese or Washington. Kindergarten is a well-balanced, full-day program. The foundations for learning and social interaction are developed over the course of the year in preparation for a successful transition into first grade. Our academic-based kindergarten program stresses development of appropriate social interaction in the classroom and during play time.
