We have started something new at St. Michael's this year. We are recognizing a star student from the elementary grades Pre-K - 4th and our upper grades 5th-8th each week.
This week, Jase Cooper is SMS' Elementary Star award recipients.
Jase Cooper reports that he likes everything about St. Michael's School. He especially likes Church, his fellow classmates, and recess. He was surprised to receive the Star of the Week for the elementary. When asked what he advised other students to do to excel he answered, "work hard."
His teacher added, to receive the great honor of being Star of the Week at St. Michael's, a student must exemplify the character traits that we focus on at St. Michael's School: being a good Christian: taking responsibility for self and others, working hard, and being full of faith and love for God. And, of course, showing kindness to all. We all have witnessed Jase Cooper's good character, and along with Father Peter, Ms. Weems, and all of his teachers we are happy to recognize him as a Star Student! Jase is an excellent role model.
Ginny Simmons reports, “I have been at Saint Michael’s since pre-K and have loved it since. Saint Michael’s has always been a place that I have been super close too.
To me, Saint Michael’s is my second family. The teachers are always so kind and are always there for you when you're sad or just need someone to talk to. I have also made every one of my friends at Saint Michael’s, and I am very thankful. Saint Michael’s is a school that I really do look forward to going to every day even if it means waking up a bit earlier than I would prefer.
When I graduate next year, it will be sad and I will miss Saint Michael’s very much but I am happy to be part of such a great school/ family!
Ginny's teacher stated, Ginny has brought a new positive energy to her class this year. Her motto that I have heard her tell herself is "New year, new Ginny.". She seems to be eager to be a positive influence on her classmates, and pushes herself to perform better this year in her academics.
