On May 31, St. Michael's School proudly graduated its 105th class at St. Michael's Church, celebrating over a century of academic excellence and faith-based education. We wish our new graduates all the best as they embark on the next chapter of their journey, carrying forward the values and knowledge they've gained.
Effective July 3, 2024, St. Michael's Parish and School will welcome new pastoral leadership. During the May 19 mass, Father Peter announced that he will be leaving his role as pastor and administrator of St. Michael's Parish and School to begin his new assignment as pastor of Jesus the Good Shepherd in Owings and administrator of Cardinal Hickey Academy.
St. Michael's 2nd Grade class had an amazing time visiting Historic Sotterley May 20th! Our young historians stepped back in time, exploring the rich history of this beautiful plantation, learning about colonial life and the importance of preservation.
Mary Vanryswick, Vice-Principal and Pre-K/Kindergarten Teacher at St. Michael's School, was recently honored as Teacher of the Year by the St. Mary's Rotary Club. This prestigious award highlights Mary's unwavering commitment to supporting students and families across St. Mary's County.

April 12, Pre-K and Kindergarten classes celebrated learning all the letters of the alphabet by making Alphabet Soup. Each student was responsible for bringing in an ingredient and everyone participated in the making of the soup.

What fun we had in Pre-K and K! We celebrated Read Across America and Dr. Seuss' birthday with book reports, art projects and a bit of cooking over the past two weeks. Everyone enjoyed the many books we shared and to top it all off, we made green eggs and ham!
The St. Michael's community celebrated Brooklyn and Berkeley for their recent baptism. We are so happy for them and pray that God's joy, love and peace fill their hearts always.
SMS is very proud of our students who read their award winning essays at the American Legion Post 255 awards ceremony. SMS scholars made up five of the nine elementary school winners. Congratulations to all!
